Invisible walls around you

What we call ”comfort zone” are the limits defined by our daily life. This comfort zone is made up of habits we get into as time goes by. But these habits soon turn into limitations. In order to really change your existence, you will need to get out of your comfort zone. If you don’t, the needed transformations will be difficult to initiate.

See the invisible walls of your prison

The same goes for everybody. It is hard not to get into habits, or even create some sort of routine in life. Admittedly, this routine often generates a reassuring feeling but it can also quickly turn into a prison made of invisible walls in which you end up going round in circles.

As time goes by and as you learn lessons from your successes or failures, you accumulate certainties. They often become the foundations on which you build your life.

The accumulation of ideas derived from our experience and our childhood gradually form the base of our state of mind. Unconsciously or not, our state of mind causes us to make decisions and behave in the way we do. We often end up hiding behind the certainties that lie at the root of our living conditions.

As we grow older, we set up invisible limits around us – without realising it… and the more time goes by, the less we dare go beyond these limits!

This attitude is very widespread and understandable but it can turn out to be a genuine trap, one that could imprison you within invisible walls if you do not question some of your certainties.

How to see these invisible walls?

There are several ways to realise invisible walls are enclosing you but two of them are particularly recommended: observing your behaviour every day and putting your beliefs to the test in real life.

1.   Observing your behaviour in real life

To check whether you find yourself in an invisible prison, the first effective method you need to use merely consists in observing yourself every day.

Here is how to proceed. It is simple: starting today, or as soon as possible, observe what is going on in your life and simply write down the principles and ideas you make use of to deal with the situations that come your way.

For a week or two, focus on this observation task. Perform it objectively. During this period, write the ideas you used to solve your problems and improve your life, regardless of the area (your enrichment, your emotional life and luck in general).

Write them down in a notebook along with the principles you apply every day of your life.

Do not judge the results of your actions, whether they are good or bad. Only write the principles used and the results derived from your actions.

2.   Putting your beliefs to the test

After a week or two (it’s up to you to decide), take your notebook and analyse the results.

See the ideas that helped you derive the most benefits. Those that helped you get richer, improve your life and be luckier.

Draw up another list containing those that did not bring you any benefit or even those that were detrimental to you.

Put the former into practice and avoid the latter. Adopt more ideas that are designed to change your life!

Break

“Why do we have brakes in a car”?

Varied answers were received, like,

  1. “To stop”,
  2. “To reduce speed”,
  3. “To avoid collision” etc.,

but the best answer was, “To enable you to drive faster”

Give it a thought. It’s true but seldom such smart out of box thinking is done, much less appreciated. For a moment assume you have no brakes in your car then how fast will you drive your car?! It’s because of brakes that we can dare to accelerate, dare to go fast and reach destinations we desire.

At various points in life, we find our parents, teachers, mentors & friends etc. questioning your progress, direction or decision. We consider them as irritants or consider such inquiries as “brakes” to our ongoing work. But, remember, it’s because of such questions (read periodical brakes) that you have managed to reach where you are today. Without brakes, you could have skid, lost direction or gone astray or met with an unfortunate accident !!!. Learn to appreciate the ‘brakes’ in your life. Use them wisely…

A Bridge in Life

According to newtons law opposite poles attract each other and same pole repel each other likewise which things we don’t want in life which are exactly against to mindset and expectations then a bridge is created  between expectation and mindset.and in this bridge our expectations lags behind ,suffering starts..what we are living really we want to live this lifestyle? everything happening accordingly what is already written for our future and present of need .Things in life are like characters on stage plays their role.Change  in  entire future life is learning and optimism .Being serious and  just listening  you seniors as to change on that thing is not in our hand.To make change and to understand the change in life and bring positive behind every task is necessity.

The whole universe chease to achieve money and just to complete desires, and its need to fullfill the lifestyle. But what’s this bridge then……sometimes somewhere we want to achieve  one thing thats only wish ..just example if you want strawberry basket it is not available in nearby shop you run towards other where it gets . likewise you run towards goal like fruit and efforts is that way running towards shop where you get stawberry then may  that way is complex like fuzzy logic you cannot draw set and subset of your wishesh being awareness ,sincerity and logic behind your need and your thoughts turned into action thats the hope. The bridge between you and your hope or desire make you supeiror through your experiences .

To complete any thing it may your dream ,your willingness, awareness ,thinking power ,your efforts can complete bridge,it name simplies conjunction between two points.train can run move fast on bridge than when it passes through tunnel same when there is no focus or spotlight on what you achieve there will no lifegame possible

Hope makes life Meaningful…

LOL-@-Self

It is said that laughing is part of Man and that it is essential to lead a successful life. Admittedly, everyone likes to laugh, have fun, and party but laughing can also turn into mockery.

Can we laugh about anything?

This is a question that is often asked: “can we laugh about anything?” And the answer is both yes and no.

We can laugh about anything since there is no limit to laughing and since everything can make us laugh or just smile.

The only limit is simple: when laughing becomes synonymous with demeaning, ridiculing, hurting, humiliating people… it goes beyond its very own limits.

Once these limits are set, limits that should be obvious furthermore, it is up to you to decide whether you can laugh at yourself and, therefore, do some self-analysis.

It is indeed easy to make fun of others but it is also a kind way of emphasizing something they should change in the way they talk or act. Everyone can do that.

Laugh at yourself

The hardest part is to laugh at yourself! This is not easy but so gratifying! I would even say that it is a sign of wisdom and humility.

Laughing at yourself is a way of not taking yourself seriously and looking on the bright side of life. This does not mean that you should make fun of your shortcomings but that you should put life and events into perspective, without thinking the world revolves around you.

Also, laughing at yourself consists in analyzing what is happening in a casual – not grave – way and making the most of this experience whether good or bad comes from it.

Laughing at yourself enables you to play down the significance of some situations and avoid attaching too much importance to things that are not significant so you can attach importance to those that really matter!

Muri Mura Muda

I read this story on social media thought of capturing it on my blog under World of Stories. I am not aware of source but its worth reading.

Here it is of Muri Mura & Muda:

The Taj hotel group had invited Mr. Masaaki Imai from Japan to hold a workshop for its staff.

The staff were very skeptical- the hotel is doing excellent business, this person from Japan has no exposure to hotel industry- what exactly is he going to teach?

But everybody as planned gathered for the workshop in the conference hall sharp at 9 am.

Mr. Masaaki was introduced to them- a not so impressive personality, nor the English all that good; spoke as if he was first formulating each sentence in Japanese and then translating it into rather clumsy English.

“Good morning! Let’s start work. I am told this is a workshop; but I see neither work nor shop. So let’s proceed where work is happening.

Let’s start with the first room on the first floor.” Mr. Masaaki, followed by the senior management, the participants, the video camera crew trouped out of the conference room and proceeded to the destination.

That happened to be the laundry room of the hotel. Mr.Masaaki entered the room and stood at the window, “beautiful view!” he said. The staff knew it; they need not invite a Japanese consultant to tell them this!

“A room with such a beautiful view is being wasted as a laundry room. Shift the laundry to the basement and convert this into a guest room.”

Aa Haa! now nobody had ever thought about that! The manager said, “Yes, it can be done.”

“Then let’s do it.”, Mr. Masaaki said.

“Yes sir, I will make a note of this and we will include it in the report on the workshop that will be prepared.” Manager

“Excuse me, but there is nothing to note down in this. Let’s just do it,just now.” Mr. Masaaki.

“Just now?” Manager

“Yes, decide on a room on the ground floor/basement and shift the stuff out of this room right away. It should take a couple of hours, right?” Mr. Masai.

“Yes.” Manager.

“Let’s come back here just before lunch. By then all this stuff will have got shifted out and the room must be ready with the carpets, furniture etc and from today you can start earning the few thousand that you charge your customers for a room night.”

“Ok, Sir.” The manager had no option.

The next destination was the pantry. The group entered. At the entrance were two huge sinks full of plates to be washed. Mr. Masaaki removed his jacket and started washing the plates.

“Sir, Please, what are you doing?” the manager didn’t know what to say and what to do. “Why, I am washing the plates”, Mr. Masaaki.

“But sir, there is staff here to do that.” Manager Mr. Masaaki continued washing, “I think sink is for washing plates, there are stands here to keep the plates and the plates should go into the stands.”

All the officials wondered – did they require a consultant to tell them this?

After finishing the job, Mr. Masaaki asked, “how many plates do you have?’

“Plenty, so that there should never be any shortage.” Manager.

Mr. Masaaki said, “We have a word in Japanese-‘Muda‘.  Muda means delay, muda means unnecessary spending. One lesson to be learned in this workshop is to avoid both. If you have plenty of plates, there will be delay in cleaning them up. The first step to correct this situation is to remove all the excess plates.”

“Yes, we will say this in the report.” Manager.

“No, wasting our time in writing the report is again an instance of ‘muda’. We must pack the extra plates in a box right away and send these to whichever other section of Taj require these.

Throughout the workshop now we will find out where all we find this ‘muda’ hidden.”

And then at every spot and session, the staff eagerly awaited to find out muda and learn how to avoid it.

On the last day, Mr. Masaaki told a story.

“A Japanese and an American, both fond of hunting, met a jungle.

In the pursuit of game they entered deep jungle and suddenly realized that they had run out of bullets.

Just then they heard a lion roaring. Both started running.

But the Japanese took a short break to put on his sports shoes.

The American said, “What are you doing? We must first get to the car.”

The Japanese said, “No. I only have to ensure that I remain ahead of you.”

All the participants engrossed in listening to the story, realized suddenly that the lion would stop after getting his victim!

“The lesson is competition in today’s world is so fierce, that it is important to stay ahead of other even by just a couple of steps.

And you have such a huge and naturally well endowed country. If you remember to curtail your production expenditure and give the best quality always, you will be miles ahead as compared to so many other countries in the world.”, Mr. Masaaki.

What is ‘Muda’?

MUDA: any activity in your process that does not add value. MUDA is not creating value for the customer. In short: WASTE

Type I muda: Non-value-added tasks which seam to be essential. Business conditions need to be changed to eliminate this type of waste.

Type II muda: Non-value-added tasks which can be eliminated immediately.

 Peter Schilling suggests:

1.Design the system with sufficient capacity to fulfill customer requirements without overburdening people, equipment, or methods (MURI.)

2.Strive to reduce variation/fluctuation to a bare minimum.(MURA)

  1. Then strive to eliminate sources of waste!(MUDA)

BUT REMEMBER: Quality first, then cost – first stop shipping scrap.

Mura and Muri are most of the time the root causes of Muda

Muda has also rootcauses itself.

Muri and Mura also.

Muda type II is easy to eliminate and gives quick results…. but for how long?

So:

Take a careful look at your Mura and your Muri as you start to tackle your Muda. Ask why there should be any more variation in your activities than called for by customer behavior. Then ask how the remaining, real variation in customer demand can be smoothed internally to stabilize your operations. Finally ask how overburdens on your equipment and people — from whatever cause — can be steadily eliminated.

This will be hard work and will require courage because it will sometimes require you to re-think longstanding sales, management, and accounting practices that create the Mura and Muri. However, if you can eliminate Mura and Muri at the outline to create a stable environment for your sales, operations, and supply management teams, you will discover that Muda can be removed much faster. And once removed it will stay removed.

Muda eliminated only taking in mind MUDA means that the MUDA can come back like a sniper.

‘Muri’ experienced by machines, gives rise to Mura in their performance!

I-M-Possible (contd.)

Anybody can aim for the impossible! Indeed, if you set limits to your  projects, desires, dreams, you’ll end up living an unfulfilling life.

It is important to have projects, desires and dreams that are unlimited in space and time because you never know what your limits are. You can only know them if you always try to surpass yourself. You should not make routine your own because it never leads anywhere.

Routine generates a false feeling of safety and curbs your desire to take risks. Taking risks does not necessarily mean uselessly putting yourself in jeopardy. The small victories you accumulate will reinforce your willpower and gradually lead to other and greater victories.

A victory – no matter how small it is – is always derived from positive actions that enable you to test and surpass our own limits. Therefore, you must have high ambitions but take measured risks.

You need to act methodically with humility, composure, and patience.

Humility serves to stay aware of your possibilities in a given moment and set reasonable and progressive steps – even if you have set high goals for yourself – so as to be sure to complete the plan – whether it concerns a project or a more humble goal.

Composure enables you to control your emotions and feelings so you do not let your negative emotions – which only lead you to lose control and lead you astray – get the better of you. Therefore, you must keep your composure under any circumstances because doing so always pays off and is constructive in life.

You need to act methodically according to a plan you set for yourself and stick to it. If you are going too slow, speed up a bit or give yourself more time. This leads us to the last virtue…

Patience is indispensable in any transformation process because we know when we start a project but never know when our goal is going to be reached. Patience is vital.
